Hi everyone,
Seniors have two weeks left and everyone else has four weeks to go. Here is what I have planned for this week:
Computers 1
We will continue working through Excel project 3. These are rather large worksheets and usually take a couple of days to finish. There will be no test this week.
Business Concepts
We will start a chapter over saving and investing. This is the last regular chapter of the semester. There should be no outside homework.
I think that's it for this week. Have a good one.

Week of April 22 - 26
Hi everyone,
Here's what I have planned for the last full week of April:
Computers 1
We will start the last Excel project together at the beginning of the week and then students will complete a reading guide over the material. This project builds on the concepts learned so far and covers relative and absolute cell references.
Business Concepts
We will continue covering credit this week. Study guides 1 and 2 will be due on Tuesday and study guides 3 and 4 will be due on Wednesday. We will review on Thursday and take a test over the chapter on Friday. I will also collect notes that day. Monday - Wednesday, students will work in groups to create movies about using credit responsibly.
I think that's it for this week. Have a good one.

Week of April 8 - 12
Hi everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed spring break. Believe it or not, the school year will be over in just a few short weeks. Here is what I have planned for this one:
Computers 1
Students will continue working with formulas in Excel. There will be no test this week.
Business Concepts
We will continue working on checking packets in class this week, Monday - Wednesday. Students earn daily participation points for using class time wisely. On Thursday, we will review checking accounts and on Friday we will take a test over the chapter. Checking packets will also be due on Friday at the end of the hour. Just a reminder that these packets are worth 150 points (equivalent to approximately three tests). It is very difficult, if not impossible, to pass 4th quarter if a checking packet is not turned in.
I think that's it for this week. Have a good one!

Week of March 24 - 28
Hi everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed such an unexpected snow day. Here is what I have planned for this short week:
Computers 1
We will start Excel project 2 this week, which covers averaging and finding the maximum and minimum in a set of numbers. Students will also learn new formatting options.
Business Concepts
We will continue the checking packets this week. These packets are worth 150 points (equal to approximately three tests). They won't be finished until after spring break and should be completed entirely in class. Usually, only students who are absent or do not use class time wisely need to take their packets home to be completed. While working on the checking packets, students will need to bring both a pencil and a blue or black pen to class each day.
We will also be going over the reading guide that was completed last week.
I think that's it for this week. Have a fantastic spring break!

Week of March 18 - 22
Hi everyone,
This week is always the craziest week of the year for me, because it is the week of the school play and I am one of the directors. We would love to have you attend this year's play, Black Hearts and Bearded Ladies, at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23, in the high school gym.
My students get a bit of a break, at least towards the end of the week. Here is what I have planned:
Computers 1
On Monday, we will review Excel Project 1 and on Tuesday we will take a test over the chapter. On Wednesday and Thursday, students will watch a movie about the 101 greatest gadgets ever made. Friday is a half day and will be a day for students to make up any work they may be missing.
Business Concepts
On Monday, students will work on their chapter 17 reading guides in class. On Tuesday, the reading guides are due and we will begin to discuss checking accounts. On Wednesday and Thursday, students will watch a movie about common cons and how to avoid falling into a trap. On Friday, I won't see my business concepts classes.
I think that's it for this week. Have a good one!

We will continue the budgeting chapter this week. Study guides are due on Tuesday. On Monday and Tuesday, students will work on creating their own budgets for life after high school. On Thursday, I will collect notes and students will take a test over the chapter.
I think that's it for this week. Have a good one.
